Benefit POREfessional Review

Benefit POREfessional Review

Primer is definitely a make-up essential for me as I use it every day regardless of how long I am going to wear my make-up for. Not only does it help keep your make-up in place for longer but it also acts as a base so your foundation has a perfect, even canvas. Benefit POREfessional does more than this though as it is also designed to minimise the appearance of pores.

Benefit is one of my favourites brands because no matter what the product, the quality is brilliant and I am yet to be disappointed by anything I have tried. Before purchasing POREfessional I had heard numerous good reviews so I had high expectations for this too but how would it work with my combination skin and foundation?

The formulation of POREfessional is an oil free light beige cream which turns transparent once applied to the skin so it is suitable for all skin tones. I find it provides the perfect base for my foundation because it evens out my skin tone and leaves my skin with a silky soft, matte finish. The primer absorbs quickly into my skin too and has a subtle floral scent which soon disappears on application.

Unlike other primers, there are actually two ways to use POREfessional. You can either apply it after your moisturiser and before your foundation which is what I usually do or over the top of your make-up during the day for any touch ups. I don't often do the latter but it's great you have the option and anything that helps keep a flawless make-up look for as long as possible has got to be a winner.

I really love this multi-purpose primer from Benefit and it is definitely one I would re-purchase. Ithelps keep my make-up stay in place for longer and I really love that you can use in under or over your make-up. If you want to buy POREfessional it is available at Debenhams for £24.50.

Nivea Soft Hand Cream Review

Nivea Soft Hand Cream Review

I seem to go through an awful lot of hand creams not because I suffer from particularly dry hands but the soap at work makes my hands feel tight so I always have to use hand cream after. As Winter is approaching the weather is getting colder so I know I will be using it even more and will no doubt soon be carrying it as an essential in my hand bag.

When a visited my nan a few weeks ago she kindly gave me this hand cream and I haven't stopped using it since. I'm a fan of Nivea products because they are always of a high quality and smell gorgeous and this one is no exception. The scent of this cream is very floral and lingers on your skin for a while after use. As for the formulation, it is pretty thin but I actually prefer that to very thick creams and as I don't suffer from dry skin I can get away with it. The solution absorbs extremely quickly and doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky or greasy so it is the perfect hand cream to use on the go. My skin is also left soft, smooth and hydrated.

Overall, I really like the Nivea Soft hand cream and would definitely repurchase. You can find it at Superdrug for £2.49.

What is your favourite hand cream?

Maybelline Baby Lips Review

Maybelline Baby Lips Review

The Maybelline Baby Lips are one of those products that is surrounded by hype. Before they even hit the UK everyone had heard of them and was itching to try them and I expect like me you haven't stopped hearing about them over the past few weeks. I must admit I didn't really get why there was so much hype about a lip balm and I wasn't bothered about trying this product when it did launch in the UK. However, when I was in Boots the other day I saw the Baby Lips hanging on a display and thought I'd see what all the fuss was about.

Priced at only £2.99 the Maybelline Baby Lips are super cheap and the packaging is adorable. I love the bright summery colours and graffiti writing which pops out. There are 6 different Baby Lips included in the range but so far I haven't found them to be widely available. I've mostly just seen the clear ones or 'Pink Punch' which I will speaking about today.

Pink Punch is a gorgeous bright fuchsia pink shade which at first may seem scary to people who aren't used to wearing a bright lip colour. However, this shade is perfect for people who love a bit of colour on their lips but don't want something very bright and obvious because the finish is sheer. This beautiful shade will also appeal to those of you who love a bright lip. It will never be as bright as a fuchsia lipstick but the colour is buildable and you can get a lovely pop of colour on your lips.

The moisturising properties of the Baby Lips are said to provide 8 hours of hydration which is quite some claim but one that I fully agree with. I don't find it necessary to keep re-applying throughout the day because my lips do not become dry but I do anyway just because of the colour pay off. This is a great two in one product and one that can also be used on the go without a mirror as it is sheer and not messy. The formulation is gorgeously creamy and soft and the smell takes me back to my childhood as it reminds me of Hubba Bubba bubble gum.

So that's it.. I've given into the hype and I must agree the Maybelline Baby Lips are completely worth it. They are brilliant value for money, (only £2.99) give you a gorgeous splash of colour and are great at moisturising your lips.

Have you given into the hype yet?
